- The Mark XVIII didn't look considerably different, but was indeed the
- intended "next model". I think most were sent to the Far East and the
- Middle East. Fighter Command stayed with the Mark IX because they needed
- something quickly.

- You can tell a Mark IX from a Mark V from the number of exposed exhaust
- stacks.. the Mark V was fitted with some kind of exhaust shielding and
- two cylinders exhausted into one stack so you had three per side. Now
- I suppose its kinda hard to tell in a fight.
