- What altitude are these weapons usually air-bursted at and how big is the
- fireball when it detonates? I have heard these things described as super
- incendiaries by people protesting the Gulf War, claiming that FAEs are
- illegal weapons of war and that they "incincerate everything w/in x feet and
- use up all of the oxygen in that area," to paraphrase. How accurate is this?
- (I don't take such claims at face value too often.) The impression I have of
- FAEs is that most of its destruction comes from the overpressure caused by
- concussive blast. I also think the shockwave is where people get the comparison
- to nuclear weapons.
