  18. Depends on what you mean by local. <25 miles?  I'd be surprised
  19. if I couldn't find froes, slicks, peaveys and such in stock by
  20. visiting less than half a dozen hardware stores.  Even odds says
  21. I can find one <2 miles.

  35. I suspect that most of the mills within convenient access to
  36. Chris' wood either won't take it because it's too short, or the
  37. entire job isn't big enough, or Chris isn't willing to post bond
  38. against blade breakage due to foreign objects, or they just
  39. aren't even willing to consider it.

  41. So that leaves finding a friend, net. or otherwise, who has a
  42. portable sawmill, or buying or renting a sawmill, or a chainsaw
  43. jig, or splitting it a la Roy and Abe.  But I suspect Chris
  44. want's it done before President's Day  8-)
