- Depends on what you mean by local. <25 miles? I'd be surprised
- if I couldn't find froes, slicks, peaveys and such in stock by
- visiting less than half a dozen hardware stores. Even odds says
- I can find one <2 miles.

- Chris' wood either won't take it because it's too short, or the
- entire job isn't big enough, or Chris isn't willing to post bond
- against blade breakage due to foreign objects, or they just
- aren't even willing to consider it.

- portable sawmill, or buying or renting a sawmill, or a chainsaw
- jig, or splitting it a la Roy and Abe. But I suspect Chris
- want's it done before President's Day 8-)
