- I have a Mitsubishi U53 VCR. I've noticed that many prerecorded tapes that I
- rent and buy don't maintain a constant brightness as they play; the picture
- will go dim or brighten every 20-30 seconds. I suspect this is due to being
- copy protected with Macrovision. Am I right? If so, is there anything I can
- do to fix the problem?
-
- I just bought the special lbx collector's edition of the Star Wars trilogy and
- while watching TESB and ROTJ the fluctuating brightness really annoyed me.
- Also, the Star Wars (ANH) tape has a lot of glitches, which for some reason
- appear whenever there is a bright flash or loud noise such as an explosion
- or laser blast. I think I'm going to exchange my copy for a new one.

- Thanks,
- -Brian
