Try going to the PEAK at night. The night view of Kowloon/HK waterfront is
simply spectacular! No joke. It's also 2-3 deg C lower than the temperature
at sea level.
I tried almost all modes of transportation (except train) during my visit
to HK last month. I enjoyed the ferry and tram ride the most cause they're
the slowest. You get to enjoy the view as you commute. I definitely advise
against taxi ride. You see so little but you pay so much! Tram and ferry
rides cost only HK$1 and HK$1.20 respectively.
As for food, you must definitely try the following :-
1. Stewed Pigeon. You can get this almost at any small eating place.
2. Snake Paste. I did not try this. Regrets.
3. Road Side Food. You'll see a lot of road-side food stalls selling everything
from glutinous rice to "chee-cheong-fun". They're cheap and tasty.
I have my reservations for hygiene, though.
4. Egg Tart. A must.
5. Noodles. They come in a variety of style from beef stewed to prawn dumplings. All taste good (but unhealthy).
And yes, try getting a window seat on the plane. The plane comes so close to
residential housing during touchdown that I actually saw someone hanging cloth- ings in the comfort of their apartment. Its an experience you'll only get in
