- the fact that there is "no offside" on a goal kick
- is the (primary?) reason why a center referee MUST
- be clear with his signals to that the trailing
- linesperson can know whether the upcoming kick from
- inside the penalty area is a goal kick or a free kick!
- If it is a free kick, then the (now) attackers must
- watch their position and the linesperson be alert for
- an offside violation. If it is a goal kick, then
- the linesperson must not call offside on a long
- clearing kick.
