- Hi,
-
- For what its worth, I learned to ski at Peak n' Peek about 20 years
- ago, back in the days of the "T-bars and J-bars". I try to get there at
- least once a year right around Christmas. The days following tend to be
- crowded especially if they fall on the weekend. However, they have quad
- chairs now and the crowds shouldn't be anything compared to other
- resorts. You'll find the hills great for beginners and intermediate
- skiers! It's definitly not Colorado, but always has some of the best
- snow when it comes to Western PA! This is due to the "lake effect".
- It's right in the "snow belt".
- I just drove up route 79 and 90 to Toronto this past weekend (Nov
- 13-15) and they already had 8 inches of GOOD, light fluffy snow. They
- got 6 more inches while I was in Toronto and it was snowing all the way
- home. It made for some serious slow driving! North of Niagra Falls,
- there is NO snow. This was all due to the lake effect. In short, it is
- a early start to what should be a great season for snow up there! I'm
- sure there making as much as they can too.
- As for sledding, they used to sled all the way past "chair 3", but I
- think they may have put in condos though. This was just "on your own"
- anyway, nothing organized. The rentals there aren't too bad either. I
- can only remeber one or two rental places before you get to the resort,
- but can't comment on the quality of their skiis or service.
-
- Hope it helps,
-
