  14. When I rode Via to Halifax from Montreal, we crossed Maine.  The train was
  15. not allowed to stop in the states, and there was no Customs check.  I do
  16. believe, though, that a US Customs official boarded the train when we
  17. entered the states, and left when we recrossed into Canada, just in case
  18. there was an emergency stop (real or contrived by a passenger).
