- When I rode Via to Halifax from Montreal, we crossed Maine. The train was
- not allowed to stop in the states, and there was no Customs check. I do
- believe, though, that a US Customs official boarded the train when we
- entered the states, and left when we recrossed into Canada, just in case
- there was an emergency stop (real or contrived by a passenger).
