  35. The CP Dayliners that ran between Calgary and Edmonton and between Calgary and
  36. Lethbridge in the 1960s had metal grates ove the cab-end windows.  I assume that
  37. VIA simply continued running those Dayliners.

  39. The 1960s were a more innocent time.  There were not many incidents of people
  40. deliberately trying to kill or maim railway workers in the Canadian prairie.
  41. However, there were a lot of unprotected level crossings on the Calgary-Edmonton
  42. line especially and the folks living near the line took a long time to find
  43. out that it was hard to beat that Dayliner to the crossing.
