- I recently installed a 5/8 ground plane on the side of my house. It
- is and older style with 3 ground radials. It is only about about 13 feet
- from the ground to the bottom of the radials. Last night my neighbour
- came over and complained that I could be heard talking on his telephone lines,
- radio and believe it or not his computer keyboard. I am about 15 feet from his
- phone lines and hydro lines. The ground radials measure about 5-6 feet below
- these two lines. I am using a mobile set rated at 4 watts out which I have
- measured. No work has ever been done on the finals so the filters are
- all intack and unmodified.
-
- My questions are,
-
- 1. Will raising the height of my antenna cut down on the RFI etc.?
- If so how high should I be about the lines?
-
- 2. I beleive my signals is clean with no harmonics but will installing
- a 27MHz bandpass filter help any?
-
- Any help is appreciated as I am off the air until I can resolve this
- problem.
