- Right you are. The ability to "mix and match" really IS a benefit.
- There are MANY extremely useful AI and AIS Nikkors out there that
- have no AF counterpart. Many of them, like the 200/4 Medical Nikkor,
- may NEVER be available as AF lenses. It's great to be able to use
- modern AF bodies without saying goodbye to all those great manual-
- focus lenses. Even without AF capability, these cameras offer
- many desirable features that set them apart from older (and equally
- great in their own way) cameras like the FM-2.
