  13. Sob story first:
  14.   Well yesterday was my birthday and I had to take my (poor) Fila (7yr old,
  15.   fixed, male, orange domestic) to the vet with some form of blockage (FUS).
  16.   This after keeping me up till 3am the night before worrying about him.
  17.  
  18.   Today I find that I don't get him back cuz his bladder's nerves are sleeping,
  19.   And, when I do, I have to change diets (from IAMS to Hills -- c/d?).
  20.   Meanwhile, my other kid (Cameo, 7yrs, fixed, female, seapoint mix) had her
  21.   shots and isn't too happy being alone. =(

  23.   I WANT MY FILA !!! (there I feel better now).

  25. Question time:
  26.   I read the FAQ about FUS and was wondering if I should really, really worry
  27.   about long term diet -- or will switching to the hills (c/d?) be good enough?
  28.   -- gee I hope they eat it, they didn't like the Science Diet stuff but really
  29.      took to IAMS. I'd still like to feed them a can (IAMS) every once in a
  30.      while and treats too.

  32.   Also the only thing that's changed drastically in the last 7 yrs is that I
  33.   switched to Litter Purrfect clumping litter (ala Costco) about a year ago --
  34.   and I kinda wonder if the crystals may have started forming cuz he was
  35.   licking particles off himself.  The vet did mention that sometimes they just
  36.   get ill and then you have to make a diet change.

  38.   Boy is it a good thing I know my kids -- my housemate just thought Fila was
  39.   being "mellow" and was fine (this being the day I took him in too).
