  14. Well, I surely didn't mean to be a racist, but I do think that
  15. criticism about other cultures is not necessarily racist.

  17. Where have I "heard" this information?  My other roommate is a Latin
  18. American History graduate student and has traveled frequently in
  19. that region.  He has seen first hand the abuses that animals suffer
  20. even with children.  He has one story of a puppy being smashed by an
  21. approximately 50 pound rock by a child barely strong enough to lift
  22. the rock.

  24. Also, a relative takes in boarders, and she once took in someone
  25. from South America.  He was abusive towards her dog to the point
  26. that he was unwelcome in the house.

  28. The kitty-abuser living with me now has told stories of her family
  29. smuggling endangered Amazonian monkeys into New York City by
  30. tranquilizing them and putting them in their suitcase.  They
  31. sometimes survive the trip only to perish in the decidely
  32. un-tropical clime of Long Island.

  34. And, I would not consider myself a racist by pointing out that the
  35. Latin tradition of BULL FIGHTING certainly is not humane treatment
  36. of animals.

  38. I try not to make "ignorant and uninformed statements", as you say,
  39. and I do not think that I have done so.
