  13. I know there have been a lot of comments on this subject, but I had to
  14. add my penny-thought.

  16. I agree that after a long day at work, the thought of settling down to
  17. eat a wonderful plate of spaghetti only to have a kitten use it as a
  18. trampling ground, would be a little disturbing }:o  However, animals
  19. aren't stupid (at least not as much as some people that I know).  They
  20. can be trained by using the right methods.  My Brandy, as a kitten, used
  21. to try to eat off my plate.  After firm instructions and placing her
  22. firmly, but not harshly on the floor, she hasn't tried, in 7 years, to
  23. eat off my plate.  It didn't take breaking a leg or even tossing her
  24. around the room.  Maybe you should throw your roommate and break
  25. something off her--see how she likes it.

  27. Being a lover of living things (more cats and dogs than humans on my
  28. list of living affectionates) I'd never take a roommate who would be
  29. cruel to animals.  Culture and background is no excuse for cruelty to
  30. anyone--man or animal.  Though culture may make you think differently
  31. toward animals, there is a difference between not viewing animals as
  32. house pets and being outright cruel to them.  A person who is cruel to a
  33. helpless kitten would no doubt be cruel to friends, family or just about
  34. anyone who did something they didn't agree with.

  36. I won't say dump her--as many have already suggested--but I'd think
  37. twice about this relationship if I were you or at least pay her
  38. back--you know eye for an eye, broken limb for broken limb ;-}
