  13.     It's funny that there is a 4'33" thread running now on
  14. rec.music.industrial.  Another proof of my theory that there is
  15. no such thing as pure coincidence.  As far as the long-winded 
  16. analysis of Cage's inspiration goes, perhaps we should ask Robert
  17. Crumb.  He claims that shortly after producing a comic called Zen
  18. (all blank pages) He showed JC the idea for 4'33", and that a few
  19. weeks later, it was being performed.  It seems that Cage has been
  20. accused of swiping others' ideas on other occasions as well.

  22.     Honestly, wasn't there an occasion when you were younger and less
  23. programmed that you found yourself in a litterature class listening to
  24. long-winded explainations of artists' intentions, and thinking to
  25. yourself:  "This is a load of bullocks!  The man's been dead for 300 years!
  26. How do you know what he was thinking?"
