- It is suprising just how warm Heavy Leather is on a cold day. A pair
- of unvented leather jeans, with silk longjohns underneath keeps me
- plenty toasty in the nether regions (Chicago, of course :-) when it gets
- chilly. Oh, of course, I ride a Concours, which has these little air
- deflectors that are supposed to keep the engine heat off, so you just
- turn them around, and bake. :-).
-
- If you can put a fairing on your bike, something like a Plexifairing 3
- has lowers that protects the legs a bit. In general, an effective
- fairing is your best friend in cold weather.
-
- Electric clothing, especially a vest (I use a Widder, satisfactorily),
- does a lot to keep the rest of you warm, too. You can get electric
- chaps, too.
-
- Anyway, layer, and keep the wind out. A rainsuit does wonders.

- I just watched "Memphis Belle" the other day (good movie!), and I
- noticed that the WWII bomber crew was wearing what looked like full-body
- sheepskin suits, with the cotton on the inside. Now THAT would be warm.
-
- And it seems like the idea of being wrapped up completely in sheep would
- be right up the alley of certain Denizens.
