  21. It is suprising just how warm Heavy Leather is on a cold day.  A pair
  22. of unvented leather jeans, with silk longjohns underneath keeps me 
  23. plenty toasty in the nether regions (Chicago, of course :-) when it gets 
  24. chilly.  Oh, of course, I ride a Concours, which has these little air 
  25. deflectors that are supposed to keep the engine heat off, so you just 
  26. turn them around, and bake. :-).

  28. If you can put a fairing on your bike, something like a Plexifairing 3
  29. has lowers that protects the legs a bit.  In general, an effective
  30. fairing is your best friend in cold weather.

  32. Electric clothing, especially a vest (I use a Widder, satisfactorily),
  33. does a lot to keep the rest of you warm, too.  You can get electric
  34. chaps, too.

  36. Anyway, layer, and keep the wind out.  A rainsuit does wonders.

  39. I just watched "Memphis Belle" the other day (good movie!), and I
  40. noticed that the WWII bomber crew was wearing what looked like full-body
  41. sheepskin suits, with the cotton on the inside.  Now THAT would be warm.

  43. And it seems like the idea of being wrapped up completely in sheep would
  44. be right up the alley of certain Denizens.
