  13. Wait.  I thought there were only 300 or so "real" Angels in the *world*.
  14. I suspect the "other large outlaw gangs" are *much* larger than the
  15. Angels...

  20. Negative, the Angels are the biggest and baddest club with at least
  21. 1,000 members and 200 prospects worldwide in 70 chapters. Outlaws
  22. have about 40 chapters and 400 members. Bandidos 300 members in
  23. 22 chapters. Pagans 26 chapters and 200 members. Sons of Silence
  24. 150 members in 17 chapters. That doesn't include smaller outlaw
  25. clubs such as the Losers in Monterey Peninsula among others.

  27. I, for one, wouldn't be surprised if some Hell's Angels actually
  28. read usenet including rec.moto and r.m.h. among others. They are
  29. actually very much in tune with state-of-the-art technology and 
  30. use PCs, walkie-talkies, mobile phones, pagers, police scanners,
  31. video surveillance, faxs, electronic evesdropping devices, radio-
  32. wave detectors, scramblers, etc. Never underestimate them and for

  36. I used to frequent Vince's on East 14th St in San Leandro which
  37. was owned by a HA called Doc and next door to a popular Angel
  38. bar plus there was a HA machine shop across the street. That was
  39. in early 70s. One thing I learned is to show respect to them and
  40. you'll be okay, but Mickey Rourke blew it when he gave them a pair
  41. of Sportsters which the HA consider *girl's bikes* and that was
  42. the end of his relationship with them.
