  12. After wanting a Moto-Guzzi for years, I finally went and bought one up
  13. last night.
  14.  
  15. It's a '78 V50 that has one foot in the basket and one on the road.
  16. It's pretty much complete, but has suffered years of neglect at the
  17. hands of the previous owner (PO).  My winter's project will be a
  18. complete restoration of it.  This weekend I'm hauling it home where it's
  19. gonna get disassembled down to the bare block, cleaned, measured,
  20. repaired, flushed, lubed, repainted, buffed and reassembled.

  22. There's some nice bits to it that I wasn't expecting when the PO first
  23. described it; shaft drive, alloy rims and that nice jewel shaped Guzzi
  24. gas tank.  I'm not looking to make a 105mph canyon-blaster out of it,
  25. rather it's going to be a low entropy test-bed to restore and learn from
  26. before giving it to Anne and stepping up to a big displacement project.
  27. It should be fun.

  29. So, can anyone recommend any sources in the US for either new or used
  30. Moto-Guzzi parts?  Does anyone have a V50 parts bike?  And is there a
  31. national club?
