- I wasn't going to keep the AeroStich string going but it is coming
- up in the Rain Suit and Passenger strings anyway so here is $.02.
-
- Mine arrived on 11-10 about a week ago. So these are first impressions.
-
- 1. It is *well* made. I am very impressed with the craftmanship. I
- have not looked at all the seams, and there are lots, but I will. However
- this is one impressive garment.
-
- 2. It is not as warm as my TourMaster insulated suit. No supprize here
- the Aero is uninsulated. It is however wind proof. The TourMaster had
- drafts at the wrists where the knit cuff is and the knit expansion panel
- behind the sholders. I have enough room that I wear a down vest and am
- comfortable in the fog and 40 degree weather we are having in Portland.
- (Note I am riding a Goldwing 25 miles on the freeway at 5:30 am.)
-
- 3. Going home the first day it was raining so hard it was hard to see.
- The TourMaster which makes no claim as to water protection would have
- acted like a big sponge. The Aero worked wonders. My daughter had
- to remind me to move off the rug when I went into the house because I
- forgot I was wet.
-
- 4. The Aero is very stiff when new. It came with 5 pages of instructions
- and one said that it would soften up with age. That will be nice as I
- have to do some unnatural acts to mount the bike the way it is now. (Yes
- I know mounting a bike is an unnatural act, just go with it.)
-
- 5. The reflective strips really work. I had the suit standing up in the
- corner of the den. When I turned off the lights for the night it scared
- hell out of me. The glow caught my eye and there was this person standing
- in the room. Like I said it is stiff at first.
-
- 6. I very much like the protection (or feeling of protection) I get when
- riding with it. It reminded me of my younger days on the dirt. I went
- much faster wearing leathers than jeans. As I am 20 years older I now
- just have a much better feeling on the bike.
-
- 7. If Goldwings and Aerostich suits are were you go to die it might not
- be that bad.
