- Although I disagree with the helmet law, I saw one of the reasons for
- it yesterday. A young (very early 20s) male riding a 80 Honda 900.
- He was dressed in sweat pants, tennis shoes, and the only reason he
- was wearing a jacket was the fact it was cold. The rear tire of his
- bike was so bald the cord was showing through. Now while I personally
- do not believe that every rider should wear leathers or aerostich, etc.,
- I do believe in something tougher that sweatpants (which already had
- holes in them). You just know that this kid would not wear a helmet
- unless it was mandatory.
-
- Instead of bitching constantly about the helmet law, just accept it
- and work at getting it repealed (by supporting organizations that are
- working for that, or voting out the bums who passed or support the law).
- Some of you are too young to have kids, but I have teenage daughters
- who ride with me and I teach them to NEVER ride without a helmet. A
- positive aspect of the helmet law is the fact that no one can give them
- a ride unless they have a helmet.
