  10. There is asmall community of indigenous persons living at latitude 54 40 
  11. on the northern shores of a large archipelago called Haida Gwaii. The 
  12. colonial maps read Queen Charlotte Islands. The climate is temperate and 
  13. marine ( wet ) and major wind storms occurfrequently and especially in 
  14. the fall.  This community is considering planting an area of some 10 
  15. acres with food producing trees. The site includes standing water, 3 
  16. meter organic ( coniferious forest humus ) on top of marine gravels and 
  17. sand. Slight northern aspect subjects lands to occasional arctic winds 
  18. off south east Alaska. Looking for information on type of food producing 
  19. trees that might be approriate, available. Important social 
  20. reconstruction work underway.
