  23. To win with a wizard, not in wizard mode.  Wizard mode is a debug mode
  24. in which winning is kind of irrelevant.  You get unlimited wishes, and
  25. can just wish for the amulet and walk up the stairs on level 1.
  26. (Normally you can't wish for a REAL Amulet on Yendor -- in Wizard mode
  27. you can).

  52. The Athame isn't really all that special a weapon.  However it
  53. has another neat feature: It can engrave very well without ever
  54. becoming dull.

  56. "So what?" you ask.  Well Engraving can be a huge help with wimpy
  57. character.  If you engrave the word "Elbereth" (from Tolkien), 
  58. monsters will not step on that space.

  60. This allows you to stand on the space an not have any monsters attack
  61. you.  There are a few things to watch out for.  Some monsters can
  62. step on that space (I think all @ monsters).  They can also throw
  63. things at you, and can also breath attacks at you.  You can also
  64. rub the word out eventually if you stand on it and attack monsters.
