  30. Well, you may not care yours and others rank, but most players on IGS do. It
  31. always is a big deal. :-)

  33. It is very hard to set your rnak on IGS. Some people suggested that
  34. set rank by 
  35. ones record. That implied a big assumption that everyone except you
  36. already set 
  37. his/her rank correctly. What happened if you beat a 6d easily and lost
  38. to a 29k? 
  39. I believe that happened on IGS, so what is the subjective standard? It
  40. seems no 
  41. way out.

  43. Don't worry, I got an ORIGINAL idea. :-) We can choose someone who is
  44. well known 
  45. on IGS, say 'panx'. You can set your rank as fellows:
  46.  
  47.     4.2panx,    1.3panx or    -1.25 panx.

  49. In first rank, you can give panx 4-stones and win about 60% games. In second 
  50. one, you play with panx in even game and win about 65% and in third one, you 
  51. always use b in no komi game and lose 62.5% when you play panx. Is this clear 
  52. enough? If you use this system, it is very easy to set your rank. Of course 
  53. we'll choose more standard players like 'ychen', 'zhong' and 'onek'
  54. and work out 
  55. conversion among those players. For example,
  56.  
  57.     1ychen=2zhong=3onek. (please note, this is an example only.)
