- :It seems to me that opener is not strong enough to reverse and you are also in
- :murky water saying 3C is still gf. I would have thought that it should start
-
- You are way off base.
-
- (1) 2S is not a reverse, playing 2/1 GF.
- (2) Even if it were, the hand is more than strong enough, in support of
- clubs, to reverse. It is worth at least 18 points in support of clubs.
- You have 15 HCP all working, and excellent shape.
-
- You propose 1D-2C; 2D-2NT.
-
- (3) 2NT by responder over 2D (in 2/1 GF) shows either 12-14 HCP, or 18+ HCP.
- With 15-17 HCP, responder bids 3NT over 2D. Indeed, it means the same thing
- over any 2 level suit rebid by opener.
-
- The auction should go:
-
- 1D 2C
- 2S 3NT (15-17) balanced
- 4C
-
-
- This is an easy hand to bid. I don't understand why everyone is making such
- a big deal over it. The problem is that there are many variations to 2/1 GF
- and not everyone has the same agreements. But it is still an easy hand to bid.
-
- And it still isn't the greatest 6C contract. It is a little over 50%.
