  19. I think the reference is to me.  I have nothing against complicated
  20. auctions, but I do think an opening 1-bid should show some defense.

  22. The hand in question is reasonably likely to take NO tricks on defense,
  23. and certainly can't be expected to provide 2, so I can't understand 
  24. opening it with a 1-bid.
