- OK, here's what I found out about storing tack (just thought I'd
- share my new-found knowledge with all of you). I went to the
- tack store on Friday and I was told that the best way to store
- tack is to clean it thoroughly and coat it in a thick layer of
- this stuff called Kocholine (as Esther told me it is an
- English product) and I think many better tack stores (at
- least around here) carry it. It is red and goo-y but I
- smeared it all over my tack, wrapped it in brown paper and
- then in an unsealed plastic bag (so it still gets air to it).
- It is the BEST leather preserver I have EVER used! I did one
- bridle which I have really neglected and abused (like riding
- in rain and not oiling afterwards) and it came out better than
- ever! I HIGHLY rcommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- And it was really cheap too. I paid $2.00 and did 4 bridles,
- 2 girths, a saddle, 3 sets of reins and still had some left
- in the can. It has an old fashioned label and is in a
- small metal can.
