- The blacksmith is more skilled at working iron and doing forge work. Sometimes
- the blacksmith only works with metal and does not work on horses. The farrier
- (a term held over from when the individual did horseshoeing and vet work)

- The farrier should be good at forge work for making/modifing shoes. I shoe
- my own horses and prefer a mixture -- cold shape a premade shoe, but hot
- fit the shoe.
