  14. I've been sailing for a year and I'm considering buying my first
  15. boat.  I'm looking at buying a Cal 20.  I sailed one this summer and
  16. had a great time with it.  I'm only planning on day sailing on
  17. the bay and it's a good boat for that.  I've found one for $1000
  18. and I'm interested, but I don't know the right things to look out 
  19. for and what all the expenses I'll have with a boat.

  21. So far I've know I'll have to pay:
  22.    purchase price   $1000
  23.    slip fees        $90/month
  24.    insurance        ???
  25.    maintenance      ???
  26.    engine           ???
  27.    new sails        ???
  28.    (what else?)

  30. The boat was built in 1968, I think.  What additional problems
  31. should I expect from an older boat?  Does anyone think a 25 year
  32. old Cal 20 is a really bad idea?

  34. Are there any books or magazines that cover what to expect when
  35. buying a boat?
