- Don't I recall some earlier speculation about this being a big year for
- northern raptors because of poor food conditions for rodents in the north?
- Appearance of a hawk owl so far south and so early in the season would seem
- to support the expectation of lots of snowies and rough-leggeds. Can great
- greys be far behind? We had one in PA last year, and there was a boreal in
- Connecticut. Maybe we'll all get a crack at some of those rarities this time.
