  38. It appears that for whatever reason the UK VW importer refers to the
  39. 'GTI' as the 'GTi'. This is even in their advertisements for the
  40. car in the print media. It is interesting to note that the badging
  41. on the cars in the ads read 'GTI' while the car is described as
  42. a Golf GTi'. One of the UKs premiere tuners of GTIs is
  43. GTi (small i) Engineering.

  45. BTW you can get some neat stuff via GTi Engineering for your GTIs.
  46. When I first got my 86, I contacted GTi Engineering and purchased
  47. the Eurpoean GOLF GTI rear and GTI front badging. Eventually when
  48. the Euro front grilles became available, I put one of them on
  49. the 86. Outwardly, with the exception of the crash bumpers, the
  50. car looked like a euro model....until VWUS screwed it up by
  51. putting the Euro grilles on the 91s....<sigh>
