- Lines: 10

- I like my 87 Golf GL, but it has idle problems. When I first start
- the car, the idling jumps from 1500 rpm down to nearly nothing and
- back again. It continues to surge until either the car stalls out
- or I keep my foot on the pedal. If the car has been running a while
- there is no problem. Now that the weather is colder, it's getting
- worse.
-
- Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? I'm reluctant
- to take it in for service until I get some idea for where they should
- start looking.
