  10. I like my 87 Golf GL, but it has idle problems.  When I first start
  11. the car, the idling jumps from 1500 rpm down to nearly nothing and
  12. back again.  It continues to surge until either the car stalls out
  13. or I keep my foot on the pedal.  If the car has been running a while
  14. there is no problem.  Now that the weather is colder, it's getting
  15. worse.

  17. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?   I'm reluctant
  18. to take it in for service until I get some idea for where they should
  19. start looking.
