- I had the same problem with my '86 GTI 8V. I replaced the idle control
- stabilizer valve. The problem disappeared instantly. The part aint cheap
- but it takes 3 screws and 5 minutes to replace. I'm not sure if the
- Golf fuel injection system is similar but I assume it is.
