- I am currently trying to do up a 1982 Peugeot 505sr 2 litre automatic
- and have run into a few problems.
- The advance/retard pipe on the distributor had worn away and so had
- the air pipe to the carb. These were replaced but the timing is still
- out. The distributor has to be adjusted to the left past the proper
- position in order to get the engine firing properly.
- The timing chain is loose and rattles at low revs.
- The rev counter does not work all the time, only the odd time when you
- start the engine.
- The sunroof will not open. There is a grinding noise from the motor when
- I try to open it. The cable itself is not too worn and all the nuts are
- tight.
- The screws on the rear brake drum caps are seized and I can`t get them
- off.
-
- Any help in over coming these problems would be greatly appreciated.
