- shifting it back into drive from neutral will cause (a tiny bit of) wear
- on one of the clutch band thingies while idling in drive instead of neutral
- may slightly increase the fluid temp in the tranny (from turbulence in the
- converter). i can't think of anything else possibly significant. strain
- on the drive train while idling in drive is real small compared to strain
- under acceleration.
