- This is my first time posting anything on the network, so if I
- screw up, please bear with me.
-
- My wife's '90 Tercel stopped running recently. My mechanic (I've
- been going to him for awhile and trust him.) said the source of
- the problem was a faulty connecting rod. When the rod broke, it
- damaged some other stuff (real technical, I know!) and we ended up
- putting in a new short block/engine (He recommended doing that over
- rebuilding the connecting rod, bearings, etc.) He also said that
- it was not run low on oil, as the defective rod and bottom of the
- crankshaft did not have any burn marks on them.
-
- Has anyone else experienced Tercel's having this problem?
-
- Thanks for your help,
- Steve.
