  13.  I've had an unexplained oil consumption problem (250-300 mi/qt) since
  14. rebuilding the motor of my MGB 3,000 miles ago (no leaks, compression: 155 psi
  15. per/cylin, leak down test: < 10% per/cylin). I recently discovered that the
  16. aftermarket fuel pump I was using was putting out more than twice the specified
  17. pressure (6 psi. instead of the 2.5 psi. that's called for). I have since
  18. switched back to the stock pump. My question is, could this have contributed to
  19. my oil consumption problem, and if so, is it possible that the problem will
  20. correct itself? Any experiences or comments are appreciated.
