- I've had an unexplained oil consumption problem (250-300 mi/qt) since
- rebuilding the motor of my MGB 3,000 miles ago (no leaks, compression: 155 psi
- per/cylin, leak down test: < 10% per/cylin). I recently discovered that the
- aftermarket fuel pump I was using was putting out more than twice the specified
- pressure (6 psi. instead of the 2.5 psi. that's called for). I have since
- switched back to the stock pump. My question is, could this have contributed to
- my oil consumption problem, and if so, is it possible that the problem will
- correct itself? Any experiences or comments are appreciated.
