  22. Ok, so maybe this is a personal phobia of mine, but "plastic fantastics" are
  23. close to the  biggest rip-off going.  By the time you are through, you will
  24. have invested as much (or MORE) into a repro Porsche as you would have in
  25. a good restoration -- REALLY!

  27. Send me e-mail, and I'll try to scrounge up the address for the 356 registry --
  28. a journal devoted to early Porsches.  You might be surprised to find that
  29. a good 356 Cabriolet can be had for reasonable $$$ -- and is the "deluxe"
  30. model of the same body style as the Speedster* (you get roll-up windows instead
  31. of snap-on side curtains -- big deal).  Best of all, you have a real antique,
  32. instead of some piece of fiberglas (tm) crap (non-tm) that only someone in
  33. polyester and gold chains would feel studly driving.  What's more, your
  34. *restoration* will have solid resale value -- the volks-cum-porsche replicrap
  35. won't.

  44. is actually a nicer car, looks almost the same, and is still (kinda) reasonably
  45. priced
