  12. Whilst cruising the highway much smoke & noise suddenly appeared,
  13. marking the end of the straight 8 buick engine in my 51' Special.

  15. A few days later after much towing, etc., I found the broken head of a
  16. valve just inside a hole at the very bottom of the engine. This
  17. seems like the end. I've tried selling the car, which is in pretty
  18. fine shape apart from no engine, but got no serious responses, just lots
  19. of older guys who liked talking about old cars. I've now reached the
  20. "It's yours if you'll just promise to rebuild it within the next three
  21. years" stage. I want the car to survive, not to be parted out.

  23. So, a friend of mine has agreed to have a go at it. Anybody know if
  24. there are any straight 8's / compatibles laying around out there ?

  26. Also, my friend may not have the intestinal fortitude / cash to
  27. pursue this to the end, so interested parties may want to reply
  28. too...
