- My personal experience with my Sony cassette/receiver head unit (XR-7280) has
- been nothing but positive.
-
- Granted, my unit is about a 1.5 model series older than the CDX-5180. I have
- no idea how applicable my experience is to the newer units. But I can tell you
- that at least my particular sample of this particular model is very very good.

- I'd say the same about the Sony tuner (again, based on my experience with this
- one unit). As I've mentioned in other threads, it will often let me hear clear
- stereo from distant stations (~120 miles) that are on adjacent channels (200
- kHz) to "locals". This would be outstanding performance even from a high-end
- home stereo tuner with a directional antenna. To do this with a car's built-in
- whip is nothing short of amazing.
