  29. i too have an alarm that is adjusted so that i have few if any falses.
  30. it irritates me that so many people have ploorly adjusted/installed alarms.
  31. every day i hear an alarm going off somewhere near my house.  if the wind is
  32. blowing or there is a lightning storm, there are a few alarms that will be
  33. constantly going off and resetting themselves and going of...etc.  i think that
  34. the owners get tired of turning them off and just let them scream for the 1-2
  35. minutes before they shut off automatically and then go off again.  when a big 
  36. truck goes down the street, it leaves a trail of wailing alarms.
  37. no wonder lpeople ignore a siren when they hear it.

  39. my alarm has falsed only once to my knowledge (i consider a false to be when 
  40. the alarm triggers for an insignificant reason), this was when an air force 
  41. bomber flew over at low - and i mean low- altitude.  this was when i first 
  42. installed it and was trying to find the proper adjustments for the sensors.
  43. i installed it myself because i do not trust the people you find in most
  44. places to do a good job.  since this time, my alarm has been triggered only
  45. five times, this is in a year and a half of having the alarm:

  47. once some kids hit it with a football
  48. once some one left a dent in the side, probobly from a car door
  49. once when some guy at a car wash tried to get in the wrong car, not a thief
  50.     believe it or not
  51. twice unknown - maybe these were falses
  52.  
  53. i know this because my alarm signals any time it has been triggered when i 
  54. return to the car.

  57. since most car alarms are improperly installed or adjusted, the owner is the one
  58. who can be counted on to even notice his or her alarm siren.  those of us with
  59. working alarms should be pissed at these folks with goofball setups because
  60. they decrease the efficiency and effectiveness of our own security systems
