Greetings folks.  Since Tom Hyer no longer has posting privileges, I will be taking over the coordination of the author polls.  I hope things run as smoothly as they did before.  The format will be the same and the past results will be available via email, anonymous ftp, and afs.  I will be posting the first new poll in a few minutes.  Before I do so, I think we owe no small amount of thanks to Tom for starting these polls and for running them as well as he did.
