- THE BEACH
- =========
-
- The grayness of evening
- Descended upon the beach,
- The waves were lapping
- At the shore,
- As we sat,
- Just out of their reach.
-
- The pale rays of sunset
- Stretched out to dance
- Upon the sand,
- As we talked,
- And as we walked,
- Hand in hand;
- And told each other stories,
- Of long-forgotten times,
- And ill-remembered wastelands.
-
- We talked and laughed
- Until morning,
- And as the bright rays
- Of the sun
- Enveloped our bodies,
- In an aura of love,
- The waves just lapped
- At our feet,
- And we lay together,
- Just out of their reach.
