- That would best explain the facts. I don't like it, though, due to the
- end of Wargames (where Jamie and Zoe leave and he gets regenerated). He
- watches on the screen as his companions return to their own time; the
- Time Lords then immediately start showing possible faces to him on the
- screen, he turns them all down, and they begin his regeneration process
- anyway. This all happens without a scene change, or any indication that
- any time has passed. If he left the room, or they said that they would
- give the verdict the next day, or they said he was getting a "last
- request", so to speak, or anything of the sort, then I would just assume
- this to be the case. As it is, though, I don't buy it. I think the
- author (is this one of Terrance Dicks'?) could have come up with plenty
- of ways for the Second Doctor to "see through" a trap without doing it
- this way.
-
- I agree with you on the second point; whether sent or travelling under his
- own power, why didn't the Doctor go back to the Brig closer in time to
- when he had seen him?
-
- Steve/used to be "used to be Iain" had an even stranger way of resolving
- this; I posted a reply to him separately (I may have accidentally mailed
- it, in which case, Steve, feel free to answer by posting.)
