- Oh, definitely. The more I see of Hopkins the more I admire him...his Van
- Helsing was absolutely delightful, bringing three-dimensional, fascinating
- life to a character who was, in the original novel, somewhat
- two-dimensional. Then again, although it was a most brilliant novel, all
- the characters were pretty two-dimensional, excepting (amazingly) Renfield.
-
- Yes, I think Hopkins would make an excellent Doctor...on the following
- conditions.
-
- 1) JNT either gets a clue or shoves off.
-
- 2) The direction improves.
-
- 3) The scriptwriting improves *considerably*.
-
- It would be embarrassing to watch someone like Hopkins in the recent
- adventures...as embarrassing as it was watching another brilliant actor,
- Sean Connery, try to do his best with the indescribably atrocious Highlander
- 2. Yuck! A great actor with bad material is heartbreaking to watch.
