  12. The old '60s SPIDER-MAN cartoon was produced by the Grantray-
  13. Lawrence studio (now long since defunct, I think) which also
  14. produced the syndicated MARVEL SUPER-HEROES cartoons (which I've
  15. never seen, but I've heard the animation was so limited as to be
  16. practically non-existent).

  18. My main memory of the Spidey cartoon was that as a fan of the
  19. comic book I was disappointed with the cartoon, which consisted
  20. basically of straight action stories with little of the
  21. character development and soap-opera plotlines of the comic.
  22. There never has been a really accurate TV adaptation of the
  23. SPIDER-MAN comic (though the SPIDER-MAN & AMAZING FRIENDS
  24. cartoon wasn't too bad).  It would be great to see someone
  25. do an animated Spidey which was as well produced and true to
  26. the original Lee/Ditko comic strip as the current BATMAN show
  27. is to the BATMAN comics.
