- I heard the same thing too, but I have to disagree. I tossed 6
- cardinals (fancy neons?) in my 10g long time ago and they've been
- abused. Like 2 months without a water change, and when I do do a water
- change, I just syphon off a bucket of water without ever vacuuming
- the gravel, I have slime algea covered up the entire tank to the point
- where you can't even see through it, nitrate so high it's off the scale,
- they all survive. That was when I was experimenting with a maintenace
- free tank, now the tank is nice and planted, water change every other
- week or so.
