  13. I'm going to tour the hospital's maternity facilities tomorrow 
  14. evening, so I'm preparing a list of questions to ask.  This is my 
  15. first time, so I'm hoping experienced mothers will be able to 
  16. suggest more questions.

  27. o Do medical students, student nurses, or residents work here?

  29. o Who will be checking on the mother prior to her doctor's

  31.   o Is she assigned one nurse, or will there be several?
  32.   o How much time does the nurse spend with the mother?  
  33.   o How many of the nurses are nurse/midwives?

  35. o What are routine hospital procedures for women in labor (IV,
  36.   fetal monitoring, enema, shaving).

  38. o Is the mother moved from the birthing room to another room?  If 
  39.   so, how long after the birth?

  41. o How long after birth can the (healthy) baby stay with the
  42.   parents, before having the routine tests?

  44. o Can the father be with the baby during routine tests?
