- I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to become pregnant for 6 months since
- I had a miscarriage. I am blessed enough to have a 20 month old daughter
- already, and each previous time I (very luckily) got pregnant within 2
- months of trying. My doctor has started to investigate my secondary
- infertility and suspects it is related to a hormonal disturbance, and I
- am awaiting the results of blood tests to check my progesterone levels,
- etc., before she considers trying Clomid out on me. I have also done
- quite a bit of reading up on infertility (& the FAQ file is very
- informative).
-
- From 2 different doctors I have been told that a) don't underestimate the
- power of yourbrain in stopping you get pregnant - life is very stressful
- with a toddler and perhaps your body is saying it's not ready; and b) don't
- try
- to replace the baby you miscarried, your body won't let you get pregnant
- under that kind of stress. But, I don't feel I can get over the one I lost
- unless
- Iam pregnant again - and I can't get pregnant! What a vicious circle!
- Anyone else out there suffered from the same thing? Can stress really
- completely mess up your fertility to this extent? How on earth do you
- lessen it
- when it's so constantly in your mind?
-
- And why do people think if you've got one already you should count your
- blessings and not have the same right to desire another child?
-
- Any support/ advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
-
- From a getting more depressed Liz!
