  12. Does anyone have the numbers (or know where I should look)
  13. for historical US equity fund returns and average annual inflation?

  15. I have written a "401(k)" program, and can plug in annual inflation and 
  16. annual return for the fund, and determine the outcome after the specified 
  17. number of years, adjusting for annual pay increases, starting salary, and a 
  18. consistent gross percentage contribution.  Just for fun of course.

  20. I would like to know what the historical annual inflation average is
  21. and what the S&P 500 equity fund and balanced fund historical annual
  22. average return is, so I can be more confident in my numbers.  I'd like
  23. 20 year numbers (if S&P tracks that far), or at least 15, to avoid just
  24. 82 and 87 messing things up.
