- If you are a director of an aerobics program, I need your
- opinion. If you are not, you will probably want to skip this
- article.
-
-
- My wife is the director for a medium sized aerobics
- program in a fitness club. The club's main orientation is
- tennis but it also has racquetball and aerobics and weights.
-
- Her manager has told her that from now on she will be
- responsible for getting NEW members into her program. Up to
- now, she has been responsible for RETAINING members that join
- her program.
-
- She maintains that recruitment of new members is not
- appropriate for her position. Also, she feels that given her
- lack of training in marketing and advertising, she will not
- be able to do as effective a job as is needed. Incidentally,
- it is not clear if she will have any input into the
- advertising budget or the way it is applied while she is
- trying to get new members.
-
- As an aerobics director, what is your opinion of this? Are
- such duties appropriate to the director position? Do you do
- them? If so, what input do you have as far as budget and
- promotions are concerned? How can she get the required
- training in marketing and promotion quickly?
-
- Please respond by mail as I dont think the rest of the
- newsgroup will be interested in this.
-
- Thanks in advance
